Since I have had the wonderful opportunity to work with many clients through our Online Support Chat function, I have had several people tell me that they have a hard time with visualizing their goal, petition or reflection scenario.

Visualizing is an important part to spellwork and meditation, such as Sister Candelaria's Sending Pink Light meditation that you can find here: http://voodooboutique.typepad.com/candelaria/
But if you are still having trouble, here is a fairly simple method to begin to hone your visualization skills.
First, close your eyes and take a deep breath. Then, with your eyes still closed, focus on the number one (1). See it in your mind's eye. You can imagine that you see it written on a chalkboard or printed on a white piece of paper. Go over it with you mind's eye as if you are tracing over it. Hold the image in your mind as long as you can. Try seeing it in 3D, turning in front of you. Once you have that down, try repeating this exercise with the other numbers, 0 and 2 through 9.
When you feel fairly comfortable with this exercise, you can then get a little creative with it. Try seeing the number in front of you as if it were on fire with flames coming off of the number but not consuming it. You can also try visualizing the numbers as if they are made out of things like ice, wood or metal. Like I said, this is where you can get creative with this exercise.
Once you have gotten good at this, you should find it easier to visualize other things like your HDs face, your petitions and reflections.

Hey Everyone!
Ok, now that you have had a chance to read over this exercise, I hope that it is becoming easier to do. So, now, to take it up a notch, try doing the exercise while your eyes are open. 
Then, I would like for everyone working with their Love Doll and Healing Egg, or Love Doll and gris gris bags from the spell kits to get ready for a new exercise. So keep an eye out as I will be posting this soon.

Khouzhan Aleck Note: Hey Misssbmw, Not necessarily more effective if you do your visualizations with your eyes open, and it can take some practice to do that. It's just that if you CAN, then you can do other things while you are doing your visualization, like focusing on you candles. And, for me, it has helped being able to do my visualizations with my eyes open when working with my gris gris bags at work. If someone comes into my office, it doesn't look like I am catching a cat nap and I can hold the image in my mind to answer their questions, so it is not as much of an interruption and they have no idea what I am really doing. I have gotten quite a few comments from people that the second exercise is difficult to do. No worries! Even if you can get short "glimpses" like snapshots that you can only hold for a fraction of a second, you are getting there. It can take time and practice to be able to quiet the mind so that you can hold the images longer. Then you can work on creative visualizing, which is what these exercises are for, which can also help you with the Reflection part of the spell kits or petitioning with other products.
So, if you are having trouble with these exercises, or holding images in your mind, there is something a little easier for you to try to start with. What you can do is, stand in front of a mirror. Spend a few minutes looking at yourself in the mirror. Then close your eyes and hold that image of you in your mind for as long as you can, even if it is only for a second. Then open your eyes and look at yourself again and try it again. Just try to hold that image a littl longer than the last time. Once you get to where you can hold your image in your mind for a second or so, then you can try to "see" more details, like freckles, eye color, hair style and things like that.
But don't worry if you are only getting short glimpses. That is a good start, just keep practicing and it will become easier.
